Renovations

During your stay you may notice projects in progress around the property. We are hard at work making improvements to the Inn’s guest rooms and grounds. Thank you for excusing our mess! We do our best to confine construction noise to the hours of 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. If ever the noise is bothersome, please alert one of our staff and we can try to adjust our construction activity.


Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. Self check-in instructions will be emailed to you prior to your arrival. You will be able to check in regardless of arrival time, however please let us know if you will be arriving after 9:00 pm. Reservations that are not checked in before midnight without notifying management will be canceled. Guests who check out after 11:00 AM  without advanced approval from management may be billed a late check-out fee.


Billing & Cancellation 

For standard reservations, a seven day cancellation notice is required. Your card will be billed for the full reservation amount and your reservation becomes non-refundable seven days prior to your check-in date. For holidays and surrounding dates, major calendar events and extended stays 28 days or longer, a 14 day cancellation notice is required. Your card will be billed for the full reservation amount and your reservation becomes non-refundable 14 days prior to your check-in date. For group reservations (3 rooms or more) and reservations within a room block, a one month cancellation notice is required. Your card will be billed for the full reservation amount and your reservation becomes non-refundable one month prior to your check-in date. Cancellation must be requested in writing. Please respond to your booking email with your cancellation request. No shows and cancellations inside the required cancellation window will be billed the full reservation amount. If you cancel, please confirm that you have received a cancellation email to ensure your cancellation was successfully processed. We cannot guarantee refunds for cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control (inclement weather, wildfire smoke, illness, etc.)


Refunds

If there is an issue with your room, we would like the chance to make it right! Please notify management immediately with any problems or concerns. We do not offer refunds if you choose to end your stay early as a result of an issue or issues without giving us the opportunity to remedy the problem. Please keep in mind that Piety Hill Cottages is an old property constructed in the 1930’s and has seen no major renovations since it was built. During your stay you’ll find quirky room layouts, compact bathrooms with low shower heads, occasionally temperamental plumbing, older heating and cooling systems and many other quirks typical of rustic country cabins of the era. Most guests adore the vintage charm of our cottages but we are by no means a luxury property and a stay with us is not to the taste of all travelers. If this does not sound like your ideal lodging destination, please contact us immediately so that we may cancel your reservation and direct you to another property in the area that may better suit your needs. We do not offer refunds for complaints related to the size or age of our units, room details apparent from our website’s photos or property descriptions, or other considerations indicated here. 


Smoking & Odor Policy

Smoking is strictly not permitted anywhere on the Piety Hill Cottages grounds or inside guest rooms. A $250 fee will be charged if evidence of smoking is found inside guest rooms or anywhere on the property, regardless of damage caused. The full standard rate will also be charged to your card for any days a guest room must be removed from service due to damage or odor remediation. Our smoking policy also applies to candles, incense, perfume, body odor or anything else that may leave a lasting odor behind in the room.


Pet Policy

Pets are only permitted in select cottages. Guests must confirm that they are booking a pet friendly room and add their pet to their reservation. Pets require an additional pet fee and are and all guests bringing a pet must agree to and sign our pet policies form at least 24 hours prior to arrival or check-in will not be permitted. Cats and other animals (except service animals) are not permitted without the advance approval of management. If indications of pets are found in guest rooms or on the grounds without approval, a $250 fee will be billed to your card. Our resident dog, Moose, lives on property and you may see her in the office or around the grounds (on leash or in her fenced yard). Moose is very friendly to adults and children and loves getting belly rubs from our guests, but please please ask a staff member before petting Moose. 


Excessive Mess, Damage & Lost Keys Fees

Missing or damaged items will be billed to your card on a per item basis. If keys are lost or not returned we must re-key the cottage. A charge of $200 will be billed to your account for any lost or stolen keys. If cleaning beyond standard housekeeping is required, your account will be billed an additional cleaning fee. 


Quiet Hour & Outside Guest Policy

In order to maintain a safe and relaxing environment for all our guests, our quiet hours are from 9:00 PM - 8:00 AM. Amplified music is not permitted outdoors at any time without management approval. Only registered guests are allowed on our grounds, with the exception of scheduled gatherings approved in advance by management. 


Room Reassignment

While you may select a specific cottage when you book, management may at times need to move you to a different room. We reserve the right to reassign rooms at any time. Typically this will result in a free upgrade. Should you be moved to a smaller room, your room rate will be adjusted accordingly.


Room Capacity

Maximum guest capacity varies for each room and is indicated in the room description. Base room rates are for 2 guests, additional guests (adults and children over 2 years) require an additional fee. Please be sure to indicate the correct number of adults and children when booking your reservation. Rollaway beds are available for $20 per night in rooms with sufficient space to accommodate them.
